  • The SAT word of the day is traduce. Traduce is a verb meaning to expose to contempt or shame; to represent as blamable; to vilify; to defame. Not satisfied with expelling Shelley from their clique, the high school girls went on to traduce her by starting a series of vicious rumors.

  • The Alpha Achievers will be holding their monthly meeting Tuesday, October 13 during period 2 in the rear auditorium. 

  • Attention students: The deadline to change to a new class and still earn a credit is Thursday, October 15th.

  • The merit cart will be open in the cafeteria today during all lunch periods.

  • Attention Afternoon ARL Students: ARL classes will still be running during Spirit Week, which includes the Pep Rally on October 15. It is expected for you to attend your ARL classes all next week. Attendance will be taken. If you are participating in the Pep Rally, this will be an excused absence from the ARL.

  • As part of the Homecoming festivities, the Oakland Mills Cheerleaders will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 17th from 8am - 10am before the soccer games. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased from any of the cheerleaders or see Coach Page. Hope you can join us for this all-you-can-eat event!

  • The tennis team will have a meeting TODAY after school in the main gymnasium.

  • Special edition homecoming t-shirts are here!  Get one shirt while supplies last. You can purchase a shirt at one of the following events: the varsity volleyball game on Monday; the varsity boys’ soccer game on Tuesday; the senior choice dinner/hallway decorating on Wednesday; the Powderpuff game on Thursday and the homecoming football game on Friday.   • Our varsity football game on October 16 has the chance to be featured as next week’s Ravens RISE High School Football Showdown! Go to the link on the OM website to cast your vote. Winning will mean that our game could receive visits from Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders and mascot, Poe, and will be highlighted in the Baltimore Sun with a game recap and photos. Plus, we will receive a $500 donation for our athletic department! Be sure to cast your vote before tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.

  • Today for lunch we are having chicken patty, fish sandwich or meatball sub.
