PTSA ADVOCACY CORNER:
Please be aware of two important public meetings that may critically impact our school system. The first is “Sep 17, 2019 Board of Education - Attendance Area Adjustment Public Hearing I” Over 7000 students will be moved between schools next year. Please give your opinion about this plan to the Board. See the link below for how to participate.

The second meeting is 18 September where the county council on Council Bill 42-2019 - - AN ACT to alter the school facilities surcharge in accordance with Chapter 744 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2019, and generally relating to the school facilities surcharge. This is a bill to increase surcharge on housing development to help pay for school building and other county infrastructure needed to sustain the development.
Please do consider 1) writing a letter/email with your input on the issues at hand. 2) present testimony at the meeting. 3) attend the meeting to show overwhelming support for the school system.
