The OMHS PTSA welcomes you back to the new school year.  We want to keep you aware of all our activities this year and will send an occasional newsletter thru OMHS.

PTSA 2020-2021 Membership
Please consider joining our team as we prepare for an exciting school year.  Your participation is vital in continuing the many services and support we extend to our hOMe students and staff.
If you haven't done so already, please consider becoming a member. You can join by visiting our online store

Volunteering
In this pandemic we need your creative ideas of how to accomplish our mission making our children’s education the best it can be. How would you make the teachers and staff feel appreciated? How can we reach folks who have never been part of the PTA to join us in and make a difference? Our Hospitality and Membership teams are active now and need your help. Please consider volunteering?  You could expect to use about 2 hours a month to plan and implement an activity with the team. Our other teams that are active later in the year are:  Scholarship, which distributes $5000 in funds to help advancing students with their educational expenses, Hispanic Liasion which promote our outstanding Hispanic community, and Senior Focus, which honors our seniors in special ways (formerly After Prom). Please pick one of these teams and you will make a big impact here in our community.

Greggs Driving School
Greggs driving school has always been one of our main partners, generously donating to the PTSA over the year. When your child needs drivers training please do consider using Greggs. They have upcoming online classes this year. Please see their website for details.

Advocacy Corner
Advocacy is the core of the PTA mission. We encourage all members to pick one issue and make a contribution.
Two big local issues of high interest at the Board of Education are: planning for schooling during the pandemic, and the School Resource Officer (SRO) program. The board of education is inviting the community to participate and give input. There will be a Public Town Hall in November on the SRO program, please contact the board at boe@hcpss.org or visit the BOE website.

Community Outreach

Adopt a Senior
Some parents in our community are trying to find special ways to make our Seniors year extra special. Would you consider joining them to “adopt a senior”? You will get to reach out to one student and help make their graduation memorable. Join their Facebook group.
