Scheduling 2019-2020

Wed, 01/09/2019 - 10:23am

Oakland Mills High School students kicked off the course selection process for the coming school year on Wednesday, January 9. In Scorp Time, students had time to think about their post-high school plans and how that relates to courses they are currently taking and may consider taking next year. Each student in grades 9-11 received instructions on how to complete their course requests online this year. English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language courses that fulfill graduation requirements have been recommended in advance by their current teacher. As students pick their additional classes they should be sure to have 7 credits and 3 alternates. Students must finish this by January 18, 2019. Visit the HCPSS website for a digital copy of the approved course book.

Additionally, video instructions about completing the online course request process are available.

To help with course selection, we will be hosting our annual Scheduling Extravaganza on January 15, 2019. All families are invited to join us at 7:00pm for the electives fair in the cafeteria. Various departments will have tables set-up to share information about their programs. Additionally, our counselors will be available to answer questions. We will have computers set up for completing the online registration if you would like to do it on site.

Here are the meetings that will make up the Scheduling Extravaganza:

  • 6:30pm
    • AP Information Meeting - Media Center
  • 7:00pm
    • 8th Grade Family Meeting - Auditorium
    • Electives Fair - Cafeteria

If you have any questions please contact your student’s school counselor.
