NAME:   Zaching Against Cancer Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2018

Award: $2,500

Specific Focus: Scholarships are awarded to students who have excelled in high school while overcoming personal hardship relating to cancer.  Hardships included being a cancer survivor, a caregiver for someone with cancer or a relative of a person with cancer.

NAME:   Marine Corps SSgt Karl G. Taylor, Sr. Detachment 1084 Scholarship

Deadline: June 2, 2018 for scholarship.  May 18, 2018 for counselor letter of recommendation request.  
Award: $1,000

Specific Focus: Scholarships are offered to highly qualified graduating high school seniors who reside in Howard County. Applicants should be well rounded students with scholastic achievement, community involvement, and a desire to make a difference in the world.

NAME:   Howard County Farm-City Committee Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2018
Award: $1,000

Specific Focus: Graduating seniors from any Howard County school (public and private) who plan to pursue a career in agriculture, animal welfare, or other field benefiting the agricultural community are eligible to apply for a scholarship of up to $1000.

Name: NYU Precollege Program

Location: New York University

Dates: July 1-August 11, 2018

Program Type: Academic

Interests/Qualifications: NYU Precollege gives rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to spend their summer on NYU's campus in the heart of Manhattan.  For six weeks, high schoolers can take college-level courses for credit, develop their essay-writing skills, and learn how to manage their time in college, all while experiencing what it's like to be an NYU student.

Location: University of Maryland Baltimore County

Dates: July 29-August 4, 2018 for students entering 9-12 in Fall 2018.  July 15-21 for the Advanced Leadership Seminar

Interests/Qualifications: Develop critical leadership and decision-making skills.  Learn how to make a difference in the world and your community.  Prepare for college or career.
