Scholarships (2/23/18)

The Community Foundation offers several scholarships for Howard County students. There is one specifically for OM students (the Tropf scholarship). The deadline for these scholarships is coming very soon, March 9. All applications are online through the Community Foundation portal.  You can access the website from Naviance or https://cfhoco.org/howard-county-high-school-students/. NAME: PTA Council HC / Teacher Education Scholarship

Deadline: April 20, 2018

Award: $1000

Specific Focus: For performance in high school and the entry into a four-year teacher education program.

NAME: PTA Council HC / Academic Scholarship

Deadline: April 20, 2018

Award: $1000

Specific Focus: For performance in high school and to encourage the continued excellence at university level.

NAME: PTA Council HC / Dr. Charles Ecker Scholarship for Community Service

Deadline: April 20, 2018

Award: $500

Specific Focus: For performance in high school and outstanding contributions to the community while in high school.

NAME: PTA Council HC / M. Thomas Goedeke Scholarship for Trade, Technical Education, or Community college

Deadline: April 20, 2018

Award: $500

Specific Focus: For performance in high school and the entry into advanced education in a trade/technical field or a two-year community college program.

NAME: LifeBridge Health/ExpressCare Community Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 18, 2018

Award: $2,500

Specific Focus: LifeBridge Health and ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers are sponsoring an essay contest to provide college scholarship money to students in our communities. Each contest winner will receive $2,500 to apply toward higher education. The theme of the essay contest is “How I Will Use My Education to Give Back to My Community.” We want to know how our future college graduates intend to enrich the lives of their friends and neighbors. Essays must be 750-1000 words and double-spaced. Each sheet of paper should be labeled with the writer’s name, school and contact information. Applicants must live in Baltimore City or Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, Prince George’s County, Harford County, Anne Arundel County and Howard County. www.whywaitintheer.com
