Attention Seniors! Do you think you have what it takes to be the next King or Queen of the Mill? Come to an interest meeting next Wednesday, February 19, during Scorp Time in Ms. Bouvier's room, 310. This annual Senior tradition is not something you want to miss! See Ms. Bouvier for more information. This event is open to all Seniors.
Are you looking for a quiet place to study and get work done? Maybe a tutor to help you with some troublesome problems? A snack to help you concentrate? Come visit Scorpion Success Tuesdays in the Cafeteria and Thursdays in room 808 for general help and 704 for math help from 2:20-4:00. Drop ins are always welcomed.
The Drone club will not be meeting this week. Club activities will resume on Wednesday, February 19th.
Show your appreciation for a friend or loved one by purchasing a Valentine’s Day Candygram for them. Candygrams will be sold during all lunch shifts today February 12th through tomorrow, Thursday, February 13, and will be distributed during 5th and 6th periods on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14. You may choose between a $1, $3 or $5 candy package to be delivered with a personalized note. See the flyers in the hallway, on the Class of 2022 bulletin board, or the Candygram table during all lunch shifts on Monday through Thursday for more information.
Do you have a Valentine and need a gift, or just want a Valentine yourself? Well the culinary classes have your back on Valentine's Day! During all lunch shifts on Friday February 14th, there will be chocolate cupcakes for only $2 each! Don't miss out!
Is your family file updated? If not, you cannot participate on field trips, prom, etc. Printed directions are available in the front office.
Oakland Mills Robotics will host 36 teams this Sunday, February 16 in the First Robotics Howard County Qualifier. Opening Ceremonies begin at 10:15 in the main gym. The event is FREE to the public and all are invited to attend. Come out, support your OM robotics Team and see what First Robotics is all about. Ignite the Nerd within you.
Do you need service hours? The OMHS Robotics Team is hosting a large competition on Sunday, February 16th. We are looking for volunteers to help out on Saturday for set up and Sunday throughout the day. Half day volunteering is available, too. Please see Mrs. Goodman in room 704 for more information.
The Federal Water Quality Association is seeking young women and men preparing for careers in environmental protection to apply for 2020 scholarships. Those eligible to apply for the scholarships are graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue an environmental career and who have immediate plans to attend a four-year undergraduate program leading to a bachelor’s degree in the environmental sciences or engineering. Please see Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services for an application package.
The Columbia Association Spirit of Columbia Scholarship Award offers up to six $2,500 education awards to graduating high school seniors who exhibit exceptional efforts in providing community service to benefit Columbia residents and those in the Columbia area. Please see Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services for more information.
Oakland Mills High School is proud to announce the Oakland Mills Vincent James Award: The recipient of this award will earn a $1,500 scholarship and the award is decided based on the merit demonstrated in the nomination packet. Students applying must be graduating seniors attending a 2 or 4 year college or university. Please see Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services to obtain a nomination packet. Your nomination packet is due to Ms. Hart in Student Services no later than Wednesday, April 1st. You may turn your packet in as soon as it is complete.
