  • Attention Students: Homecoming guest forms are due TOMORROW!!!  Please pick up your forms from the front office and the media center today!

  • Are you stressed about this school year? Do you want to be involved in raising awareness for mental health and supporting the mental health of students at Oakland Mills? Come to an interest meeting for Active Minds, a new club at OM on Friday, September 27 at 2:20 in room 401, Mrs. Gimpel’s room. Food will be provided.

  • Are you interested in gaining leadership experience? Service hours? Or opportunities to help out around the community? Come join educators rising in Ms.Goodman’s room, 704 today, September 25th for an interest meeting. We meet every other Wednesday from 2:15-3:00. Ask Jaylynn Smith or April Thomas for more information. Educators rising hopes to see you there!

  • The math team will have its first competition today, September 25 after school. Please return your permission slip to Ms.Tullier to attend.

  • Any student who currently flies Drones or is interested in learning how to fly a drone should attend an interest meeting in Mr. Yarn's room, Room 407 today, September 25th immediately after school. Based on attendance, we will explore the possibility of establishing the OM Drone Flying Club.

  • If you are interested in playing for the OM Tennis Team, there will be a brief meeting after school on Thursday, September 26 in room 608.  See Coach Hewitt for Information.

  • Students and staff, you are invited to attend the FIRST Spirit Night of the YEAR for the Class of 2021 at Red Robin on Thursday - September 26, 2019 from 5-9pm at Red Robin Columbia Crossing  8640 Snowden River Pkwy  Columbia, MD, 21045. 20% of our fundraising sales will go back to Class of 2021. So the more people who attend, the more money we will earn for the Prom this year. Please HELP US RAISE MONEY FOR PROM!!  You must show our flyer or mention OMHS for your sales get applied to the class funds. So take a picture.  Wear your Spirit gear.  We'll see you there!!

  • As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we will show "Viva La Causa" on Thursday, September 26 in the Media Center right after school. It's only 90 minutes so we hope to have a big turnout. Ask your English and Social Studies teachers for more information. This film focuses on one of the seminal events in the march for human rights—the grape strike and boycott led by César Chávez and Dolores Huerta in the 1960s.

  • Join Oakland Mills’s BCF for their first Bible study tomorrow, Thursday, Sept 26. Come and be apart of Young people who just want to know more about God. There will be snacks and drinks while we discuss what the Bible is really saying. It’s from 2:15 to 3:15 in Mr. Jenkins room. See you there!

  • Attention Seniors! Don't forget that our Senior Sunrise Breakfast is this Friday, September 27! Remember this is a potluck.   • Class of 2020 - Are you looking for help to pay for college or a trade school?? Financial Aid officers from HCC will be at Oakland Mills on Monday, Oct. 7th and Tuesday, Oct 8th from 9am to 3pm to help students and their parents submit their FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Please visit Student Services to learn how to sign up and what documentation to bring.

  • Attention Seniors: thinking about a career in politics? Want to learn more about how government works? Apply to be a Maryland General Assembly Student Page! This is a paid position and a great opportunity to see the legislative process up close and personal. See Mr. Berry for more details--applications are due by Thursday, October 10th.

  • Thinking of a potential gift for the Fall or Holiday season? The OMHS Journalism staff has got you covered. They’re holding a Yankee Candle fundraiser to fund new editions of The Scroll. You can buy candles and other household items from today until Wednesday, October 16th. If you’d like to buy satisfying scents for you, your friends, or your family, buy a candle and help support The Scroll!
