PSAT 2023

Sat, 10/14/2023 - 9:33am

PSAT is on October 18th (11th Grade) and October 25th (10th Grade)

PSAT testing will take place on October 18, 2023, for 11th Graders. The rescheduled PSAT date for 10th Graders will be October 25, 2023.

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the United States. Approximately 3.8 million students took the PSAT/NMSQT in 2022. The PSAT provides information to educators, parents and the public on student progress towards proficiency on the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards.

The PSAT this year will be fully digital. Students will access the test with the Bluebook app on their HCPSS Chromebooks. The digital test has 2 sections, Reading & Writing, and Math with a break in between.

Students, please make sure to bring your FULLY CHARGED Chromebook to school on PSAT day! If you do not have a school issued device, you’ve lost your device, or you are having issues with it, please go to the Media Center to have one issued or for troubleshooting ASAP.

THIS TEST IS ONLY FOR 10-11 GRADE STUDENTS! All other students will not be impacted by this test and should plan to attend school as normal. Parents, please make sure students attend school that day and are ON TIME! We will begin testing at 7:50 so it is important that students are present and seated. There are no make-ups. Once directions are completed, students will no longer be allowed in the testing room.

Below is the online PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide. This link provides information, practice tests, and other resources that can be helpful to students and families.
