ACADEMICS

  • Starting next week on Tuesday, March 10th, OMHS will be offering SAT Prep after school.  The class will run 2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Juniors interested in signing up should see Mr. Davis in room 511 at the back of the school for an application.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

  • Ever wondered how Netflix suggests shows? Maybe you’ve thought about starting your own business or wished you could put your people skills to work?  Then come to the media center during lunch on Thursday, March 5th for our first-ever Career Cafe. This week’s reps are a senior data scientist and computer programmer, a business owner, and a human resources specialist. Sign up in the media today if you plan to attend.

SCHOOL SUPPORT

  • Studies have shown that attending a music concert and listening to live music yields a much greater enjoyment to the listener. It also has a much greater ability to reduce stress than simply listening to a recording. So take out your ear buds, turn off the rattling stereo in your Honda Civic, and attend the Axes and Ivories Guitar and Piano recitals on March 11th and March 25th at 7:00pm. If you have one, your soul will thank you.

THIRD PARTY ACTIVITIES @ OMHS

  • Attention Students taking the MVA Learners Permit Test: All 40 MVA Permission slips have been handed out. Permission slips are due no later than this Thursday, March 5th.  Please hand them in to Ms. Filippelli in room 609.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Calling all Basketball Lovers!  The Glenwood Middle School March Madness for Grassroots needs volunteers!  If you love the game of basketball, come out and volunteer to be a scorekeeper or referee!  The date is Friday, March 20th, 3PM to Midnight. The registration deadline is March 13th. Please see Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services for additional details.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Friendly reminder for students completing the scholarship application for the Mason's, to complete and return your application to Student Services.  A representative from the Mason's organization will be picking them up during the first week of March.  If you haven't requested an application package from the Mason's, be sure to check Naviance or with Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services. (run through 3/6/020)
  • If you are interested in attending HCC in fall 2020, please join us for an application session in the media center lab from 10:00am to 11:00am TOMORROW, March 4th.  This application session is for students who are interested in becoming an HCC student.  This includes students who are interested in the Freshman Focus program, Silas Craft and HCC’s Honors programs.  Please see Mrs. DeMasi in Student Services for assistance in signing up.
