  • Congratulations to Mrs Vance's Strategic Reading I classes who have won a national content for the Achieve3000  platform they use & earned a $25 gift card reward! Keep up the great work!

  • Are you interested in going to cosmetology school? Paul Mitchell will be visiting OM tomorrow at 9:30am. Please see Mrs. Monteith in the Counseling Center for a pass.
  • Students, this is a reminder that although you may purchase prom tickets or pay for a field trip, you will NOT be able to pick-up your prom tickets or attend a field trip if your family file is not completed online.  Printed directions are available in the front office.

  • Members from PTSA will be here at school collecting after prom forms in the cafeteria Friday April 5th and Monday April 8th before 1st period. Bring your signed permission slip and money to turn in.

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors- You have two weeks left to purchase a prom tickets. Tickets are $70 and can be purchased with Ms. Bouvier in room 310 before or after school, during Scorp Time, or on your way to lunch. You can also buy your tickets online by following the online payment link on the Oakland Mills High School website. Guest approval forms are available in the front office. Students with obligations will not be permitted to buy a ticket. See Ms. Bouvier for more information.

  • The Escorpiones Latinos will be meeting this week in room 200. Everyone is invited.

  • The Bible study will meet TODAY after school at 2:15 in 408, Mr. Jenkins' room.  All are welcomed to attend.

  • PBIS will be raffling tickets to Mary Poppins on Thursday during all lunch shifts. Remember to bring your merits to lunch Thursday and respectfully remind your teachers to give out merits for respectful, ready and responsible behaviors.

  • Are you interested in being a voice of leadership for your class? Do you want to plan homecoming activities, dances, and fundraisers? Can you represent the views of others in your class to help make decisions that will impact our school community? Join the Student Government Association and make a difference next year. If you would like to run for office, pick up a candidates' packet in the Media Center and talk to Mrs. Florida.

  • The event you have been waiting for has finally arrived! We will soon find out who will be crowned this year's King of the Mill. Come out on Thursday, April 11th at 7 PM to see some of OM's finest sing, dance, and even hula hoop to prove that they are deserving of this prestigious title. Pre-sale tickets are available now for $5 with any contestant or from Ms. Bouvier. Tickets will be $8 at the door.

  • Any student who wishes to take the G/T Intern-Mentor class next year must have submitted an application and completed an interview with Ms. Bakhru. Any student who does not submit their application and complete an interview by next Friday, April 5, cannot take the course next year.

  • It's almost time for the Oakland Mills spring musical! The Oakland Mills Theater Department will be presenting Mary Poppins, from April 4-7th in the theater. Tickets are $12 at the door or online, but you can get them at lunch for only $10. Tickets will be on sale during lunches from Monday, March 25-Wednesday, April 3. Performances are Thursday-Saturday, April 4, 5 & 6 at 7:00p and Sunday, April 7 at 2:00p.m. Come out and see the amazing show we've put together! 

  • Oakland Mills High School will host a Howard County Military Interest Night in our café on Tuesday, 9 April 2019 at 6:30 PM.  Representatives will be on hand from service academies, ROTC detachments (colleges and universities) as well as all branches of the United States Armed Forces.  Students and other community members will have the opportunity to hear presentations and to interact with service and school representatives who will answer questions about their many programs.  This evening event is for anyone who thinks uniformed service might be in their future either before, during or after college.

  • Attention Seniors!  The Vincent James Scholarship is now open for students to apply.  If you are attending a 2 year or 4 year school, come by the counseling center to pick up a copy or check out naviance for an electronic copy. A recommendation letter is required. The deadline is 3pm, Friday, April 26th.  Please submit your completed applications to Ms. Hart in the counseling center.
