  • The National Art Honor Society hopes you enjoyed Sticking Together Day today! There were about ten students along with Ms. Bram and Ms. Harrison who worked very hard writing more than 9000 positive notes just to brighten your day because you all are worth it. Please remember, if there are any notes left hanging up around the school you are welcome to take them down to keep, or to give away to brighten another person's day." Have a fabulous day today and remember to be kind and spread positivity.

  • Tomorrow, our Oakland Mills Science Olympiad Team will travel to Johns Hopkins University to compete in our final State Tournament. Our team is new this year and reaching the State Tournament level is very prestigious! Their accomplishments should be commended. If you are interested in checking us out for next year - see Ms. Doodigian in Room 801. We wish our team the very best tomorrow! Bring home the Gold!!! Go Scorpions!!!

  • A reminder to all varsity and JV girls basketball players.  Final uniform collection is Monday after school.

  • Attention Seniors!  The Vincent James Scholarship is now open for students to apply.  If you are attending a 2 year or 4 year school, come by the counseling center to pick up a copy or check out naviance for an electronic copy. A recommendation letter is required. The deadline is 3pm, Friday, April 26th.  Please submit your completed applications to Ms. Hart in the counseling center.

  • March is Red Cross Month. The Alpha Achievers are sponsoring a Blood Drive TODAY, Friday, March 29.  If you are interested in donating blood, please let Mr. Wallace, Mr. Ringgold, Malic Stafford or Adam Mostafa know. Remember, you must be at least 16 years old. Get your consent form today!

  • Attention Seniors - The yearbook is bringing back "Senior Quotes." You will be getting the opportunity to write your own message to appear in the yearbook.  Senior English teachers will be collecting your quotes in class within the next week.  They must be "APPROPRIATE" and there is a character limit.  Speak to your English teachers if you have any questions. Deadline is TODAY, Friday, March 29.

  • You must have a lunch pass to enter the Counseling Center during your lunch. How can you get a pass? Come first thing in the morning to Mrs. Monteith to get a pass before 1st period.  If you arrive late, sign in with Mrs. Boyce and then come to the Counseling Center to get a pass.

  • The Merit Monday cart will be open this Monday. Please remember to bring your merits to lunch and respectfully remind your teachers to give out merits for responsible, respectful and ready behavior.

  • Any student who wishes to take the G/T Intern-Mentor class next year must have submitted an application and completed an interview with Ms. Bakhru. Any student who does not submit their application and complete an interview by next Friday, April 5, cannot take the course next year.

  • It's almost time for the Oakland Mills spring musical! The Oakland Mills Theater Department will be presenting Mary Poppins, from April 4-7th in the theater. Tickets are $12 at the door or online, but you can get them at lunch for only $10. Tickets will be on sale during lunches from Monday, March 25-Wednesday, April 3. Performances are Thursday-Saturday, April 4, 5 & 6 at 7:00p and Sunday, April 7 at 2:00p. Come out and see the amazing show we've put together!

  • Oakland Mills High School will host a Howard County Military Interest Night in our café on Tuesday, 9 April 2019 at 6:30 PM.  Representatives will be on hand from service academies, ROTC detachments (colleges and universities) as well as all branches of the United States Armed Forces.  Students and other community members will have the opportunity to hear presentations and to interact with service and school representatives who will answer questions about their many programs.  This evening event is for anyone who thinks uniformed service might be in their future either before, during or after college.

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors- You have one week left to purchase a prom ticket for $65. They will increase to $70 starting in April. See Ms. Bouvier in room 310 before or after school, during Scorp Time, or on your way to lunch to purchase your ticket. You can also buy your tickets online by following the online payment link on the Oakland Mills High School website. Guest approval forms are available in the front office. Students with obligations will not be permitted to buy a ticket. See Ms. Bouvier for more information.
