Hello Oakland Mills! I am making this announcement to let you know about an opportunity that will give you the ability to help save someone’s life. On this Friday at 2:30, we will be having a QPR Suicide Prevention Training. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. You will learn how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone who may be very depressed or suicidal. Being a teenager is a hard stage in life. THAT’S A FACT! Anxiety, stress and pressure is normal for us, and sometimes it can seem overwhelming. Research shows that most teens who are struggling do not confided in their family...they go to their friends! That’s why it’s important for us to learn how we can help each other. If you want to make a difference, please sign up to attend the training. The sign up sheet is taped to the counter in the front office. Again, the training is on Friday, from 2:30 to 4:30 in room 100. There will be refreshments, and those who attend will get certificates.
