Today is the last day of Inclusive Schools Week! Did you know that around 10% of American public school students are English Language Learners? In the 2016-2017 school year, 6.1% of Scorpions were English Language Leaners. Students who are identified as English Language Learners (ELLs) can participate in language assistance programs to help ensure that they attain English proficiency and meet the same academic content and achievement standards that all students are expected to meet. ELL students can contribute in many ways in classroom across America. ELL students have a rich knowledge of language, life experiences, and cultures. Students who are English Language Learners enrich our classrooms and communities. After all, we are OM…we are strongest together.
