  • Congratulations to the freshman volleyball team on their win against Wilde Lake last night. Varsity volleyball also clinched a win against the WildeCats varsity team, who were previously ranked in the top 20 teams in the entire state. Big wins for our lady scorps!

  • If you have a debt to the cafeteria, it will be reported as an obligation. This WILL affect you being able to purchase your Homecoming Ticket. Please see Ms. Holderman in the cafeteria with cash or check over $25.00 payment or questions. Go to www.myschoolbucks.com to pay online.

  • If you get Free or Reduced meals, you must submit a new application each year. When you are in line at lunch and get to the register, we will tell you if you need to complete a new application. They must be turned in by next Friday October 12. If not completed, you will have to pay full price for your meals starting October 15. Go to www.myschoolapps.com to complete online. If you need a paper application, please see Ms. Holderman.

  • All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT on October 10th. Please bring your own calculator to your testing room. There will be a limited supply of calculators in the 11th grade testing rooms which will be first come, first serve. Math teachers will not be loaning calculators this year so it is imperative that you come to your testing room prepared on October 10th. Good luck on the PSAT!

  • Students interested in buying tickets to the homecoming dance - please remember that your family file must be updated online by your parent/guardian.  You will not be able to purchase a ticket without an updated family file. Printed directions are available in the front office.

  • Attention Seniors: are you interested in serving as a student page for the Maryland General Assembly? Student pages assist state representatives during the Spring 2019 legislative session and will represent Oakland Mills and Howard County in Annapolis. For more information about this program and to receive application materials, see Mr. Berry in Room 105. Applications are due Thursday, October 4th.

  • Movie making, film editing and becoming the next Steven Spielberg! Come to the Film Club interest meeting on Thursday, October 4th in Room 212.  See Mr. Williams in room 212 for more information.

  • Are you a Senior? Would you like to earn a $30 gift card to Chic-fil-a, Starbucks or Chipotle? How about a $60 gift card? Or help with your prom tickets? The class of 2019 is here to help. We are currently running a Claire's Gourmet fundraiser. Orders are due to Mrs. Bailer in room 208 by Wednesday, October 17th. Extra fundraisers can be found in room 208 as well.

  • Want to join a group of people who love reading modern and classic books? Join the OMHS Book Club! For our first meeting, read The Hate You Give and then come to the Media Center to discuss this award-winning book with other people who loved it! We will have snacks, great conversation, AND we'll make plans for future book club gatherings. We can also talk about the release of movie version of The Hate You Give in October! Students, Teachers, and Parents are welcome. Just read the book and show up on October 10th!

  • Do you need a holiday gift for mom? Well, don’t worry, the Journalism class is hosting a Yankee Candle fundraiser from October 1st to October 12th. If you would like to purchase any satisfying scents or easy gifts for friends or family, see any of the students in Journalism or Ms. Moore in room 211. Buy a candle and help support the OM newspaper!
