In conformance with Policy No. 8040, Selection of Instructional Materials, applications are now being solicited from students for membership on the Instructional Materials/Criteria Review Committee. Students must be citizens of Howard County and enrolled in a Howard County Public School.
Principals are to publicize this opportunity through newsletters that are distributed to students, lunch bulletins, announcements at student association meetings, and other appropriate means. It is important that students be made aware of this opportunity so that a wide representation of applications is received.
Membership is for a two-year term. The committee will be responsible for reviewing selection criteria for instructional materials and revising the criteria, as needed. It will also serve as a review committee for any materials requested for reevaluation.
