  • If you have not turned in your flu consent forms – it's not too late!  Online and paper flu vaccine consent forms will be accepted until the end of school on Wednesday, September 26th.  No consent forms will be accepted after that.  
    • Even though the website will allow consent form to be completed after Wednesday, these consents WILL NOT be counted in our final numbers to DPP and those students will not be able to receive the vaccine at OMHS on October 9th.  Please feel free to contact our Nurse, Ms. Sterenberg, with any questions.

  • All Freshmen and Sophomores are welcome to attend the Delta Scholar Social Action program on Tuesday, September 25th in the cafeteria from 2:30 - 3:00.  The Delta Scholars will be presenting on Social Media and what it means for your future.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday! 

  • Attention Seniors: are you interested in serving as a student page for the Maryland General Assembly? Student pages assist state representatives during the Spring 2019 legislative session and will represent Oakland Mills and Howard County in Annapolis. For more information about this program and to receive application materials, see Mr. Berry in Room 105. Applications are due Thursday, October 4th.

  • Juniors and Seniors the sign up for this year's Homecoming Powderpuff Game is up in the Media Center. Come by and register today. Your registration fee is $15 and covers the cost of of your jersey. Registration ends this Friday, September 28th and is first come, first served so don't delay!

  • This week is Banned Books Week. Libraries across the country are celebrating the right to read and the freedom against censorship. As Ray Bradbury said, "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." If you check out a book this week from our Media Center, you'll receive a small prize, so come by and keep reading!

  • Students, if you are interested in serving on the Instructional Materials/Criteria Review Committee, applications are being accepted until September 27, 2018. The application link can be found on the Oakland Mills High School Website. 

  • This Wednesday, September 26, from 2:15 - 3:00pm, Bible study will begin starting in room 408, Mr. Jenkins Room.  All are welcome!

  • The It's Academic team will be practicing Mondays and Tuesdays after school in room 807. For questions, please contact Mr. Retterer.

  • The information meeting for National Art Honor Society is Wednesday after school at 2:15 in the art department. If you have an interest in visual arts and want to be considered for joining NAHS please be sure to come to the meeting!

  • Are you interested in dance? Would you like to be part of a dance for Hispanic Heritage Month? Please visit Mrs. Alonso if you are interested. First meeting is Wednesday after school. 

  • BSU applications are now available and can be found outside Mr. Ringgold’s office or BSAP office.  All applications must include a $3.00 membership fee and should be remitted to the front office in a sealed envelope addressed to BSU.  Forms are due Wednesday, September 26.   Questions should be addressed with any BSU Executive.
