  • The SAT word of the day is repulsive. Repulsive is an adjective meaning eliciting disgust and rejection. Though some laughed at his obscene outbursts, many of the dinner guests found their host's behavior to be repulsive.

  • The answer to yesterday's question -The first African American woman to run for president was Shirley Chisholm. Today’s question - He is an American film director, producer, writer, and actor. His production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, has produced over 35 films. Some of his works include Do the Right Thing, 4 Little Girls, a documentary about the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963, Malcolm X, When the Levees Broke, about Hurricane Katrina, and most recently Chi-Raq. Who is he?

  • Another trivia contest will celebrate Women's History Month in March. Stay tuned. 

  • The boys’ basketball team travels to Century today for their second round playoff game. Game time is 7:00pm and admission is $6. Go Scorps!

  • Softball tryouts will begin this Wednesday at 3:00 on the softball field (weather permitting). Please come prepared for both indoor and outdoor practice. If you need additional information or haven't submitted your paperwork, please see coach Yarn in room 407 today.

  • Join us in supporting the Oakland Mills journalism program today by eating at the Chipotle on Dobbin Road. 50% of all proceeds will go to support The Scroll. Stop by any time between 2 and 9 PM and mention Oakland Mills Journalism, or stop by room 211 to pick up a flyer. 

  • There will be an important meeting for anyone interested in playing Allied Softball on Thursday, March 2nd at 2:15 PM in the cafeteria. Important paperwork will be given out. If you have any questions, see coach Laverick in Room 309.

  • All participants in this year’s King of the Mill show will meet after school today in room 310, Ms. Hepler's room. Please bring all signed paper work.

  • AP Registration is open and runs until March 9th. The cost is $93 per exam ($10/exam if qualified for fee reduction). Registration forms can be found on Naviance.
