  • The SAT word of the day is prestigious. Prestigious is an adjective meaning having great influence or authority due to a high reputation. Although many of his high school classmates had not heard of the culinary institute Steve decided to attend, the school enjoyed a prestigious reputation among chefs.

  • Scorpion Ice Hockey players take on Mt. Hebron TODAY. Come watch them hustle, hit, and never quit. Bring your hats, gloves, and hot chocolate. The puck drops at the Columbia Ice Rink at 3:00.

  • Congratulations to Sumaya Elkashif, Michael Eubanks, Gavin Kohn, Peter Lay, and Kaleo Ngo for successfully auditioning into the HoCo High School GT Honors Band.  They are 5 of 85 total musicians selected for the ensemble.  These band members are some of the top wind instrumentalists in Howard County and will be representing Oakland Mills High School at the GT/Honors Band concert on January 24th at River Hill High School. Congratulations again on your outstanding work!

  • There will be an important meeting for Allied Bowling on Thursday, November 19th at 2:20 in the cafeteria. Paperwork will be collected. If you have any questions, see Coach Laverick in Room 309.

  • Come to Oakland Mills' very own bible study every Wednesday! It will be right after school until 3:30 in room 408. Come and experience the Love of God shown through his Word. You DON'T want to miss it!

  • This Friday, November 20th, PBIS will be raffling off 2 movie tickets in each lunch period. You can win a ticket for yourself and a friend to go to the movies! So bring your merits to lunch and encourage everyone to earn as many merits as they can. Cool stuff will be raffled off soon so save those merits!!!

  • The Media Center invites you to come support Adelbert's beard. The more books you check out, the more his beard will grow. Come check him out while you check out. Also, plan to attend the first Media Center Read-In on Tuesday, November 24th during the break period. Join us to sit and read for 10 minutes. Participants will be entered in a drawing for fun prizes.

  • Attention, the Black Student Union, BSU will be meeting Thursday November 19 after school in the BSAP office in the media center. All are welcome.

  • Attention Alpha Achievers: The Thanksgiving Dinner Service Opportunity Signup Sheet is on Mr. James’ door outside of the cafeteria.

  • Today for lunch we are having chicken nuggets, pork ribique or egg spinach flatbread omelet.
