  • The SAT word of the day is galaxy. Galaxy is a noun meaning a system of stars; an assembly of brilliant or famous people. The Milky Way is the galaxy which is the home of our solar system.

  • The answer to yesterday’s trivia question, the first American sports league with a female ref, was the NBA. Here’s today’s question: In 1890, this state made history as the first in the US to have a provision in their state constitution granting women the right to vote. Which Western state was the first to allow full female suffrage in the U.S.?

  • Come cheer on a team of Oakland Mills administrators and teachers as they participate in the Strutting with the Staff dance contest on March 22 from 7-9 PM at the Jim Rouse Theater in Wilde Lake High School.   • It is almost time for The Oakland Mills High School Talent Show. The Talent Show will be Thursday, April 6, 2017. Auditions will be held Thursday, March 23rd at 3 PM. If you are interested in participating, please sign-up at the Alpha Achievers office (right across from the cafeteria).  See Mr. James if you have questions.

  • Seniors, the deadline for the PTSA $500 scholarship is almost here. Applications must be in by 9AM., April 18th. There is only 1 question to answer. Don’t wait until the last minute. Get your application in Guidance now!

  • Today for lunch we are having hot turkey sandwich, chicken & cheese quesadilla or glazed turkey ham & Swiss sandwich.
