  • The SAT word of the day is bogus. Bogus is an adjective meaning sham, not genuine, counterfeit. The dramatic claims made by a company marketing diet pills were later exposed as bogus.

  • The girls’ and boys’ track teams competed Tuesday in the Howard/Anne Arundel Challenge. The girls’ team placed 3rd and the boys’ placed 9th. Congrats to the following individuals on their wins in their respective events: Brit Lang - 500 and 800 meter runs, Lauren Woods - 55 Meter Hurdles, Mik-yla Stephens - 55 Meter Dash, Melvin Bell - Shot Put, and Girls 4x200 Meter Relay - Lauren Wood, Rayonna Williams, Mik-yla Stepens, and Seun Sule.

  • Join us for a challenge day meeting after school tomorrow in Mrs. Wright's room, #209. Be there and be the change!

  • Attention Spirit Club: we will be meeting tomorrow after school in Mr. Berry's room. All are welcome!

  • Attention Delta Scholars. There will be a brief meeting and a workshop on Tuesday, January 12th in the Media Center from 2:15-4:00. Please follow the business casual dress and color code. If you are unable to attend or if you have any questions, please notify either Ms. Smith or Mrs. Francis. We look forward to seeing you!

  • Attention freshmen and sophomores: ARL Shadow Days are coming around again in February! Permission forms are available in the Counseling Center and must be turned in by January 29th. Come by the Counseling Center for more details.

  • The Escorpiones Latinos are meeting today at 2:15 in room 411.

  • This is a reminder for seniors that the last day to retake senior portraits is Thursday, January 14th, here in the auditorium. The list of portrait times for students who have not had their pictures taken is published outside of room 308.

  • Do you like to write and want to hone your skills, and bounce ideas off of like minded people in a safe, supportive environment? If so, please join the writing club. See Ms Smith in room 410, it is not too late to join.

  • Staff and students, would you like to feel calmer, experience less stress, and be more creative? Please join us for mindfulness in the mornings. See Me Smith in room 410. No experience is necessary. We encourage you to bring a friend. Teachers, bring a student or two.

  • Today for lunch we are having meat lasagna, chicken patty or cheeseburger sub.
