The SAT word of the day is recalcitrant. Recalcitrant is an adjective meaning showing opposition. The soccer team was mostly made up of girls who worked well together, but there were two or three resistant and recalcitrant girls who did not respect the authority of the coach.
Another great effort last night from the wrestling team who continues their undefeated season by knocking off Wilde Lake and Marriotts Ridge. The Scorpions had extra efforts from Daiquan Anderson, Keanu Gibson, Anthony Morales, Kevin Rockwell, Solomon Barnes, and Justin Gatewood. The Scorpion wrestlers face a home match tomorrow night under the spot light against Howard.
The boys’ track team tied for 4th place on Saturday at the Howard County Winter Fest where over 50 teams competed. Kelsey White place 3rd in the 800 meter run; Cameron Vereen placed 4th in the 55 meter dash; Joey Navarro placed 4th in the 3200 meter run; Melvin Bell placed 7th in the shot put; the 4x800 relay team - Jared Nguyen, Kevin Paez, Sean Smith and Anders Chattin - placed 6th; and the distance medley relay - Jared Nguyen, Sean Smith, Kelsey White and Joey Navarro placed 2nd.
The girls’ track team placed 13th on Saturday at the Howard County Winter Fest where over 50 teams competed. Brit Lang placed 1st in the 1600 Meter Run. The distance medley relay team - Grace Chaverini, Lauren Wood, Oriana Ovide and Brit Lang - placed 2nd.
The "Save the Administrator" fundraiser is back. DECA will be collecting donations for Toys 4 Tots all week during lunch shifts. Donate money to a worthy cause, make a child's holiday memorable and save your favorite administrator all at the same time. Wallace, Schwartz, Galbreath and Cosentino....only one can be saved from getting a pie in the face at the Winter Pep Rally. All those who donate are eligible to be drawn to do some pie tossing at the Pep Rally.
Good Food for a Great Cause. Come to Qdoba TODAY between 2:00pm and 9:00pm and support OMHS Escorpiones Latinos Club.
