  • The SAT word of the day is ally. Ally is a noun meaning one united to another by treaty or league; someone on the same side; a kinsman. The president found that his unpopular foreign policy was causing tensions in relations with his country's traditional allies.

  • The Delta Scholars of Oakland Mills High School are hosting their first annual Blush and Bubbles Run on Friday, October 30th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Oakland Mills High School.  The first 50 people to sign up will receive a t-shirt.  Tickets will be sold during all 4th period lunches. Please come out and support the Delta Scholars!  We hope to see you there!

  • There will be an important meeting for student athletes interested in participating in Allied Bowling on Wednesday, October 28 after school in the cafeteria at 2:15pm. Important paperwork will be given out. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Laverick in room 309. 

  • Attention freshman and sophomores: ARL Shadow Days are coming November 17, 18, and 19. There are 3 options for 10th graders and one day for 9th graders. Permission slips are available in the Counseling Center. See your counselor or Mrs. Gilmartin for details. The deadline to sign up is November 6th.

  • Jeffers Hill Elementary is in need of student volunteers to assist with Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 29th from 5:30 through 8:30pm.  This event is limited to 10 volunteers.  Please sign up with Mrs. Savage in room 701 as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for those students seeking community service hours.  

  • For all boys interested in playing Lacrosse this spring: there will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, October 28th at 2:15 in Coach Riss' room immediately after school. The meeting shouldn't last longer than 15 minutes.

  • Today for lunch we are having macaroni and cheese, chicken patty or hamburger/cheeseburger.
