  • The SAT word of the day is arrogance. Arrogance is a noun meaning offensively exaggerated belief in one's own superiority or importance. The professor's arrogance was evident in the complete disdain he showed for anyone not as educated as he was.

  • Attention all wrestlers, there will be a mandatory wrestling meeting TODAY after school in Coach Howell's room, room 505.  All those interested in wrestling need to attend this meeting starting at 2:20.

  • In order to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, OMHS will be hosting a potluck dinner on October 29th from 6-7:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Bring a dish from a Spanish speaking country to share!  There will be entertainment as well.  Please see Ms Bowman in room 307 or Mrs. Alonso in her office near the cafeteria for more information or to sign up for a dish to bring.  We hope to see you there!

  • The Delta Scholars of Oakland Mills High School are hosting their first annual Blush and Bubbles Run on Friday, October 30th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Oakland Mills High School.  The first 50 people to sign up will receive a t-shirt.  Tickets will be sold during all 4th period lunches. Please come out and support the Delta Scholars!  We hope to see you there!

  • There will be an important meeting for student athletes interested in participating in Allied Bowling on Wednesday 10/28 after school in the cafeteria at 2:15 pm. Important paperwork will be given out. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Laverick in room 309. 

  • Attention freshman and sophomores: ARL Shadow Days are coming November 17, 18, and 19. There are 3 options for 10th graders and one day for 9th graders. Permission slips are available in the Counseling Center. See your counselor or Mrs. Gilmartin for details. The deadline to sign up is November 6th.

  • Jeffers Hill Elementary is in need of student volunteers to assist with Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 29th from 5:30 through 8:30 pm.  This event is limited to 10 volunteers. Please sign up with Mrs. Savage in room 701 as soon as possible.  This is a great opportunity for those students seeking community service hours.  

  • Today for lunch we are having popcorn chicken or meatball sub.
