Delta Scholars

Delta Scholars is a service-based honor society for ladies of color in grades 10 through 12 who have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, and is sponsored by the Columbia Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. This organization is dedicated to the empowerment of African American females in the Howard County Public School System. The aim of the program is to prepare women of color for the 21st-century world through promoting academic excellence, providing leadership opportunities for community service, and providing assistance in goal setting, all done while exhibiting culture, class, and confidence. Outside of the school day, scholars perform group community service events such as visiting elderly homes and cleaning the school grounds before Homecoming weekend.

Members are required to complete 15 community service hours each academic quarter.

Applications need to be printed and turned into Ms. Tyler or Ms. Humphrey by September 24. 2019. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance on October 10, 2019.
