  • Want to go to the movies for free? Come to the HoCo Student Film Festival this Friday at 7pm at the Miller Library in Ellicott City. Watch original movies created by fellow students. There’s horror, suspense, comedy, drama and so much more! For more information, go to hocofilmfest.com.

  • Students, make sure to get a cup of hot cocoa and a donut from Frostee’s Donut Shop located at the concession stand by the gym. The shop is open on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s from 6:45am-7:20am. Teachers, if you’d like to get a coffee subscription and learn more about it contact Mr. Cutler in room 403.

  • Interested in politics? Want to learn more about the people running to represent you? Come to the County Council Districts 2 & 3 Debate tomorrow evening from 6:30 to 8:30. This debate will be held in the OM auditorium and is sponsored by the Young Democrats of Oakland Mills. We’ll see you there!

  • There will be an Allied Softball meeting for all students interested in playing Allied Softball on Weds. at 2:15 in the cafeteria.  Important information will be given out. Please see Coach Laverick in room 309 if you are interested and can not make the meeting.

  • During the month of March, students from around the nation will be joining voices at a couple of events to speak out about gun violence and safety in our schools. SGA and NHS will be sponsoring a poster making event on Thursday after school for any students who want to participate in creating some visual art to support the cause. Please join us in the Media Center on Thursday until 3:30 if you are interested.

  • The girls softball team is still looking for a few more players to try out for our program. We are developing the JV and Varsity teams and we need a few more ladies! Tryouts will continue this week, every day from 3 - 5pm. Meet in the hall by the main gym at 3 to join our lady scorpions on the softball team.

  • Congrats to our girls basketball team - the 2A South Regional Champions! They defeated West Lake and will move on to play in the state semifinals, Friday March 9th.  The game will be played at the SECU Center at Towson State and starts at 5pm. Let’s go OM!
