The OMHS Kinetic Sculpture award received an Honorable Mention award for their outstanding performance at the competition on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The original award was given to another team as Oakland Mills was unable to attend the award ceremony due to PROM. But, the judges created a "Fill in the Gap Award" to replace the original Judges Choice Award. The judges were impressed that "we didn't sink." This was due to several well hidden flotation barrels under the main body of the kinetic sculpture. The design was good and a fun time was had by all.
